Medicor Imaging, a digital imaging and DICOM solution provider, worked with Charlotte Eye Ear Nose and Throat Associates to develop Medicor's new product, MiPACS Medical Workstation. MiPACS Medical Workstation is a full-featured medical viewer developed using the LEADTOOLS Medical Imaging v.17 SDK.
CEENTA has 15 clinics throughout the Charlotte region. MiPACS Medical Workstation was installed in a Citrix environment at CEENTA, which means less maintenance is required and easier to update. It is integrated with CEENTA's EMR system, MedInformatix, allowing single-click access to patients' images from the EMR. Prior to MiPACS, patient images were transported from location to location on CDs. Now that MiPACS Medical Workstation is installed, images captured at any one clinic are immediately accessible on all computers throughout the 15 clinics. All patient CTs, ultrasounds, and other images used in otolaryngology are stored to the MiPACS Storage Server, located at the SouthPark office. The same MiPACS Storage Server powers the medical and dental imaging archives used by the US Air Force, Department of Veterans Affairs, and over 40 Universities.
CEENTA provided Medicor Imaging with input on features and workflow throughout the development process to ensure that MiPACS Medical Workstation fulfilled all the needs of an ENT practice. MiPACS will be used for optometry and ophthalmology images at CEENTA in the future.
