Medicor Imaging announces their 9th Annual MiPACS User Meeting will take place June 28-29, 2018 in Charlotte, NC. Medicor Imaging is the creator of MiPACS (Medicor Imaging Picture Archiving and Communication System) and invites MiPACS Users to attend a small conference each year to discuss all things MiPACS, including the future of MiPACS.
MiPACS User Meeting
In 2008, Medicor Imaging hosted their first MiPACS User Meeting in Charlotte, NC with a little under 40 attendees. Now, 10 years later, Medicor Imaging is beginning the preparations for their 9th MiPACS User Meeting with high hopes to double that number. Medicor strives to keep their event growing by using the feedback received from attendees of prior years.
The MiPACS User Meeting is a 2-day event that allows for a conversation between Medicor and MiPACS Users. It is a chance for Medicor to talk about what they have been working on and hear from MiPACS Users. The meeting consists of general presentations, breakout sessions for the various types of MiPACS Users (Schools/Government/DSO and Clinical/IT), and guest speakers. The meetings also offer the opportunity to schedule one-on-one meetings with Medicor employees where topics can be tailored to each customer's environment and user-base.
Guest Speakers
The MiPACS User Meeting offers the chance for users to present on a topic or issue to help improve MiPACS. Over the past few years, users have shared their experiences and knowledge of the software, and each year, it is one of the highest-rated segments according to post-meeting surveys. Medicor will have two guest speakers during their event this year: Dr. Brent Dove and Dr. Cleber Silva.
Dr. Brent Dove will be presenting on Radiation Quality Assurance and will be offering hands-on workshops. Dr. Dove is a dentist and maxillofacial radiologist. Dr. Dove retired from the Department of Dental Diagnostic Sciences as Professor and Director of Innovation & Technology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Texas. Dental Display QA was founded by Dr. Dove to provide the dental practice with simple quality assurance solutions for computer display systems used for diagnostic interpretation of digital dental radiographs.
Dr. Cleber Silva will be presenting on Radiation-Free intraoral x-ray training with Mandible Max. Dr. Silva is a board-eligible maxillofacial radiologist and teaches maxillofacial radiology to undergraduate students full-time at the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and post-graduate residents part-time at the University of Washington-Seattle. Mandible Max is Dr. Silva and Sawbones' state-of-the-art dental training device designed as an ionizing radiation-free model for practicing radiographic techniques.
