Since 2004, The United States Air Force has worked extensively with Medicor Imaging when the MiPACS Dental Enterprise Solution was chosen as the single dental imaging solution. With a combination of the MiPACS Dental Enterprise Viewer and MiPACS Storage Server, Medicor Imaging provides a complete, DICOM-compliant system for capturing, archiving and viewing digital dental images.
Friday, June 25, 2010 marked a big day for The U.S. Air Force and Medicor Imaging. The Ramstein Air Base and Geilenkirchen Air Base were the final two installs for a total of seventy-eight bases installed in the United States and abroad. The last U.S. base was finished on June 4, 2010. Medicor Imaging started installing at base dental clinics for the U.S. Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) on March 8, 2010 with RAF Croughton Air Base near Cambridge, England. USAFE bases include four in the UK, three in Germany, one in Turkey and one in Italy.
"Our involvement with the dental professionals in the Air Force is making MiPACS a better product" says Scott Mallonee, Medicor Manager. "The Air Force had many workflow and feature requests which Medicor Imaging accommodated, and those improvements were realized not only for the Air Force, but for all of our customers."
All seventy-eight bases will be connected to central archive servers, which are collocated in Ohio and Georgia. This will give Air Force dentists instant access to a soldier's entire dental imaging history, no matter at which base the soldier was originally stationed at when the images were captured.
